SKIMO. LEVEL II

THE SYMBIOSIS OF SKIMO AND MOUNTAINEERING

PERFECT COMBINATION TO GO TO THE HIGH MOUNTAIN!

In this course you must have a medium level of mountain skiing, to take advantage of the use of crampons and ice axe, use of ropes, descent of steep slopes and a bit of mountaineering that is taught in this type of training.

Knowing about the environment, equipment and materials, levels and avalanches, knowledge and operation of the ARVA devices, will be some of the topics that we will give you know, as well as progress during the ascent and descent in untreated snow, mountaineering technical used in ski-mountaineering.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

  • Know the progression techniques during the ascent and descent in steep slopes.
  • Know the progression techniques with a group people during the ascent and descent in steep slopes.
  • Know the progression techniques with ice ax and crampons.
  • Know the techniques of self-detention.
  • Know the basic techniques of maps and orientation.

  • Know how to ride a rappel of fortune in the snow and anchoring materials of this.
  • Know the security protocols before an avalanche danger zone.
  • Know the victim search protocols with the ARVA device.
  • Use the specific material correctly. Ropes, knots, ice ax, crampons, etc.
  • Group descent techniques. Rappel techniques and other techniques with ropes.

  • The course begins at 19:00 the day before the announced date.
  • We also adapt to your dates.
  • Maximum 6 persons.

The price includes:

  • Teaching of a IFMGA Mountain Guide.
  • Informative dossier of the course.

The price It does not include:

  • Personal equipment as the helmet, harness and climbing shoes, and transport from your point of departure to the area of the course, overnight and meals..

Timetable:

  • From 9 to 16 hours approximately. Depending on the weather and snow conditions.
  • The course begins at 7:00 pm the day before, with a presentation and talk about material and safety in avalanche terrain, at the Xalet UEC Refuge in La Molina.

Place:

  • La Cerdanya. Zone to be determined.
    We can move to other areas.

By participating in one of the activities on this website, you are covered by a mandatory minimum accident and RC insurance. But we recommend that you are federated or have good travel and activity insurance.
